This was a photo opportunity at Dadswell that we couldn't resist.
Mark decided that he didn't want to pose but was happy to join the selfie trend.
All Aboard
We boarded The Ghan with the loaded vehicles at Adelaide as we were travelling Red Class ( cattle class ) our overnight accommodation was a reclining chair. This was something that we were not looking forward to but were pleasantly surprised that we all managed to get a good amount sleep, fortunately the carriage was only half full so we were able to spread out . The dinning carriage was a good reprieve from our allocated seats , we played cards and managed to beat the blokes playing sequence, the food was good and drinks well priced.
The train stopped at 3.30 am in order for the staff to organise the sunrise breakfast for the Platinum passenger, unfortunately being cattle class as we were, we were only allowed out of the train at 6.30am for 15 mins to walk up and down the tracks with a staff member supervising with a whistle to alert those who stray to far .Alice Springs Sataion |
